The new Yeti 1500 is a professional-grade portable power station by Goal Zero, featuring a long-lasting LiFePO4 (LFP) battery and a 2,000W AC inverter. Engineered for a 10+ year lifespan, it offers 10x faster charging and IPX4 weather resistance, making it the premier power solution for off-grid overlanding, home emergency backup, and mobile professional work.
Power More, Worry Less: Key Features and Benefits
At Goal Zero, we don’t just build batteries; we build gear for people who live, work, and explore where the pavement ends. The Yeti 1500 represents a ground-up redesign of our core mid-sized unit, focused on durability, recharging speeds, and battery longevity.
Next-Gen LiFePO4 Battery Chemistry
The heart of the Yeti 1500 is its LiFePO4 battery (Lithium Iron Phosphate). Unlike traditional lithium-ion batteries, LiFePO4 batteries are chemically stable and incredibly durable.
What does 4,000+ cycles actually mean? It means you can fully discharge and recharge this unit every single day for over 10 years before the battery capacity even drops to 80% of its original state. This is an investment in a decade of reliable energy, not a disposable gadget.
Massive 2,000W Output (3,600W Surge)
A portable power station is only as good as the appliances it can actually start. With a 2,000-watt continuous output and a 3,600-watt surge, the Yeti 1500 provides "wall-outlet" quality power anywhere. This isn't just for charging phones (it can of course do that too!) - it’s for running high-draw induction cooktops, circular saws, and full-sized refrigerators.
Weather-Rated Durability: IPX4 and Beyond
Most power stations are delicate electronics. The Yeti 1500 is built for the elements. With an IPX4 rating, it is protected from splashes from any direction. Combined with an aluminum chassis and protective port shields, this unit is designed to ride in the bed of a truck, sit in the dirt at basecamp, and keep working when the weather turns.
Ultrafast Recharging: Ready in an Hour
We’ve eliminated the "charge the day before" requirement. Thanks to its 1,500W AC input, the Yeti 1500 charges from 0-80% in under an hour. If you realize you’re low on power while packing the car, you can plug it in, finish your coffee, and be ready to head out with enough juice for the weekend.
Built for Every Scenario: Yeti 1500 Primary Use Cases
The versatility of the Yeti 1500 makes it the "Swiss Army Knife" of energy. Here is how it performs in the most demanding environments:
-
Overlanding, Vanlife, and the Great Outdoors
When you are miles from the nearest outlet, the Yeti 1500 acts as your mobile grid. It is vibration-tested to ensure that thousands of miles of washboard roads won't rattle the internals.
- 12V Fridge/Freezer: Run a high-efficiency fridge for multiple days on a single charge.
- Adventure Tech: Keep drones, mirrorless cameras, and GPS units topped off simultaneously using the dedicated USB-C PD ports.
- Starlink Ready: Power your satellite internet for 15+ hours to stay connected in the most remote locations.
-
Home Emergency Backup & Disaster Preparedness
When the grid goes down, the Yeti 1500 keeps the "must-haves" alive. Unlike gas generators, you can keep the Yeti 1500 inside your living room. There are no fumes, no noise, and no maintenance.
- Full-Sized Refrigerator: Keep food from spoiling for up to 20 hours.
- Medical Devices: Provides silent, reliable power for CPAP machines and oxygen concentrators.
- Communication: Keep the Wi-Fi router and phones running for days to stay informed during an outage.
-
Professional Mobile Workstations
For contractors and digital nomads, time is money. The Yeti 1500 provides a silent, portable alternative to dragging 50-foot extension cords across a job site or running a noisy idling truck.
- On-Site Construction: Run miter saws, drills, and battery chargers for cordless tools.
- Event Production: Power lighting rigs, sound boards, and laptops for hours without the hum of a generator ruining the audio.
- Powering Breaks: Power speakers, charge phones, and electric coolers to optimize lunch breaks for the crew on hot days.

The Death of the Gas Generator
For decades, the only way to get portable power was a gas-powered portable generator. Goal Zero power stations have made that tech obsolete.
- Zero Fumes: You can't run a gas generator in your van or bedroom; you can with a Yeti.
- Zero Maintenance: No oil changes, no stabilized fuel, and no carburetor cleanouts.
- Instant On: No pull-cords or warming up. Push a button, get power.
- Silent Operation: Enjoy the sounds of nature or sleep through a power outage without the constant 70dB roar of an engine.

FAQs
What can I power with the Yeti 1500?
The Yeti 1500 can power phones, laptops, tablets, cameras, lights, CPAP machines, TVs, fridges, and power tools. Check your device’s wattage - it must be below the continuous AC output rating (2000W) of your power station.
Can I use my Yeti Power Station outside?
Yes. Your Yeti is IPX4 rated, meaning it’s designed to handle outdoor use and resist minor splashes. However, it’s not fully waterproof. Always keep the port doors fully closed when outdoors and we strongly advise against operating live loads in rain, heavy moisture, or other wet conditions due to the risk of electrical shock.
Can I run devices while recharging the Yeti?
Yes. The product supports pass-through charging, so you can charge the Yeti while powering devices.
Is this new 6th generation (6G) Yeti 1000/1500 compatible with older Goal Zero solar panels, cables and accessories?
While the 6G Yeti 1500 uses all custom parts (batteries, hardware, etc) it is still compatible with our legacy line of HPP and 8mm solar panels and cables. The 6th Generation units are not compatible with any of the expansion modules or external expansion batteries (Tanks) used on previous Yeti generations.
